    Hi there just picked up a A4 1.9 TDI 1996 and have a few problems the clutch stick's a bit when lifting just before it begins to bite so I keep nearly stalling and I can't reset the service reminder push and hold trip then ignition on and display still shows in2 flashing the trip button does work so any ideas?.

    It's possible that the clutch pedal movement "sticking" is due to wear or fatigue of the diaphragm spring or the clutch lever inside the transmission housing.

    On 1996-97 A4 a scan tool is needed to reset the service reminder. From 1998 onwards, on some models, this could also be done by using the two buttons on the instrument cluster.

    VW T25 Camper, Alfa 33 1.4 ie, 2 Alfa 33's for parts.

    That sticking is usually a problem with the release bearing guide sleeve having a wear step or a worn/cracked fork but either way, box out.

    Cheers guys clutch Has improved with use now works smoothly car had stood for nearly 2 years so can only assume was like that due to lack of use can the service reminder be reset by vagcom VDS ?
