    Hi,

My window regulator (drivers window) stopped working. I ordered a replacement online and have tried to change this myself.

I can't seem to find anything that matches my car in terms of guides but the videos I have seen on youtube show that everything needs to be undone and then the window section at the top should lift out with the frame, glass and regulator.

I have undone everything I can find but it doesn't seem to life up at all.

This is the picture of the door without the card / motor etc on.

As you can see, the regulator is tucked behind (and undone) but I have no idea how to get it out to change it over / reseat the glass etc.

If I recall, where I have circled Red, that's the point where the regulator fixes to the door, take those four screws out, but, before you do, you need to push your window down on the regulator. There are two circles cut out of the window about the size of a 10p piece through which the window regulator clips in. I've circled in green where you can push a screwdriver through to unclip it. You need to do the same on both sides.

Once the window is unclipped, push it back up and it will lift out. Then undo those 4 screws/bolts and the reg will come out.

Take note of how it fixes in, maybe take some pictures inside the door. It's relatively straight forward.

If you're still struggling, sign up to ERWIN.audi.com for £7 you can download the audi manual to follow.
Find it first on the website so you know which one you need then pay for your access. Really simple.

Thanks, I undid all of those so it was moving freely.

I just literally couldn't figure out how I could lift it out at the top? Does the top of the door come off like the older models so you can lay the glass onto the regulator and put it back in?

No, once you unclip the glass and push it back up, tilt it forward towards the rear view mirror and it just comes straight out.

It's honestly, more simple than you realise once you know how.

So how do you get the new one in through the limited space?

Once the glass is off, and it's unclipped, the two pieces come together amd you just drag it out through the hole in the door, do the same in reverse woth the new one, hold the two pieces together, put it in through the hole and then assemble inside. Just make sure it goes in the right way. Once it's in, you drop the glass back and push it all the way down until its clips back in. Refit the motor and tidy up

    Thanks very much

Just paid for an hour's access and printing the guides out. I think it was the glass baffling me as on the older models the whole top of the door lifts out.
