Hi - My rear brake pads are down to metal and damaged the disc - Looking to replace both discs & pads - Model has electronic parking brake - I have VCDS software which I believe I need to get the electronic drive to reset itself - so looking for answers to some other basic questions since my Haynes Manual only covers up to 2012 & does not discuss electronic parking brake systems :-
    1) What is the torque setting for the caliper bolts ( my old A3 8P was 35nm) - is this same for electronic brake version 8V ?
    2) Do these bolts need to be replaced when fitting new pads or OK to re-use old ones ?
    3) Is it possible to remove the disc without having to remove the caliper carrier ?
    4) If not - what is the correct torque settings for the carrier bolts ( old A3 stated 65nm), however saw a A6 video which seem to suggest much higher torques ~114-120nm

1/2) In absence of any other information I decided to use same settings as old audi - ie re-used caliper bolts and torques to 35nm
    3) Great design (not) - definately needed to remove the carrier to get the discs off
    4) It appeared like the torque I needed to break them free was much greater than 65nm - so in absence of any new data = reused same bolts and torques to 70nm - more than old A3 ie 65nm

If anyone can confirm the correct torques - much appreciated

In the absence of any information re torque - actually used the erwin site and did a flat rate 1HR charge and managed to download repair section for brakes ( + others) which detailed out the correct torque setting - for anyone else the bracket is torqued to 90nm+ 90 degree . Now need to source new bolts and torque to correct spec - do not want to do with existing bolts and risk damaging them and getting them stuck in

NEVER retorque a TTY fastener to its original spec, if you have to reuse a TTY stick to the old idea of M8 20Nm, M10 45Nm.

50 maybe 60 but not TTY wise the usual 70 but reusing a TTY is not a good idea, only in exceptional circumstances.

Thanks - I actually torqued them up to 70nm which is still lower than the spec TTY from Audi of 90nm+90deg - should suffice until I can get new bolts and torque to spec.
