Hi everyone, the sunglasses holder on my 2014 A8 will not latch and stay shut. Besides being a pain, it also partially obscures the rear view. Audi have quoted to replace the complete overhead console. Total cost, including labour comes in at £600. Somewhere I read the mechanism that latches the holder shut is the same as the one in a Brabantia Bin lid. Can anyone shed some light on this and a cheaper fix if possible.
Otherwise I will seal it shut.
    Cheers

Hi everyone. I have actually answered my own question. I fixed the defective latch on the sunglasses lid. I removed the latch with long nosed pliers, the old latch will be destroyed, but it's broken anyway. When all bits of the latch are removed, you simply push in a new latch until it clicks into place, job done. I bought 6 new ones on Ebay for a fiver. Simples !! Audi wanted £600 for the job.
