    Hi all,

    Happy Easter!

Want to buy a Beetle Cabrio but am unsure of whether to go for the newest I can afford, probably about £16-17k or get one about 10 or so years old for much less and keep a pot of cash for repairs that it might not need. It would be used for pootling around town, longer drives very occasionally. Any thoughts on the merits of either option, I'd love to hear them please.

I do like the peace of mind of approved used and have always thought that if it's ok for the two years of the warranty then that's a reasonable indication of future reliability and if it breaks all the time you're covered but again, any shared thoughts on that would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks...

The New Beetle 1, especially the cabrio, was not a very well resolved car and water leaks can be a real issue, the later version is much better but not as cute.
