Hello and introduction!

Welcome Simon. I’m not too far from you. I’m just outside Billingham.

I have a 2008 S6 Avant as my pride and joy for last year. Been slowly getting it back into shape and just today got it through it’s MOT after failing it’s emissions last week. It was the front flexi pipes which are blown and Audi wanted nearly 3 grand to replace (as it needs the engine dropped). In end took it to a garage in Middlesbrough and got all 4 flexi pipes cut out, replaced, along with gaskets, and many studs and bolts which had rusted through. Highly recommend them they were really good and a huge chunk cheaper. So another 12 months of hopefully cheap(er) motoring.

Sorry for the late reply, yeah Billingham isn’t that far like, yr car looks great, love the alloys! if you need VCDS mine is available for a cuppa and a natter. Also I’m needing a clutch and flywheel now, the place you went to, are they able to do that cos I’m thinkin if I can do it on my driveway? If that’s even possible!

Yeah the place I took it to probably could help you out (M and M motors on Snowdon Road). Worthwhile just giving them a ring and asking. They were super helpful when I called them. Also took lots of pictures of the job as requested so got a good sense of the quality of the work. If not you could try getting a mobile mechanic to your house but when I ring around them they were all super busy and had long lead times for slots. Thanks for VCDS offer. Not needing anything now for it (or on my Golf GTI) but if I ever do I will let you know. When things are more normal could always pop round anyway for that matter .
