My 2015 GTD needs a new cambelt + water pump, although it's only done 44,000 miles? Has anyone had these replaced by a main dealer recently and if so how much did it cost. Would like to have a rough idea before I ring them?

G12 Evo has been the factory fill since 2017 and HOPEFULLY will prevent MQB platform heater matrix blockage due to Silicate fallout in G13.

Bugger just used G13 after my cambelt/water pump change, is the Silicate from the G13 or from the silicate bag in the coolant tank ?
By the way the cam belt did look as though it was failing even though it had only done 12k. do think it was because it was a Dayco belt ?

Dayco belts are perfect, I have never had an issue with them and often when you remove the factory fit belt it is Dayco and the VAG repair sets often come with one. The Silicate cartridges are there to prevent Silicate fallout from G13 but VAG gave up on it four years ago. If the cartridges 4E0 121 176, are not replaced with the coolant, G13 degrades even faster.
