I may be missing something but what is the app being discussed here?
Do I assume you but an amount of credits with the app which get spent with each feature you add/enable?

    Obdeleven

Yes, it has simplified apps which consume credits when used. You can still code it using long coding but with apps it’s super easy. It also works on the iPhone/android unlike VCDS on windows only.

Bit of a noob with this, but would like to activate wireless CarPlay - is this device ok:

OBDeleven starter pack - Innovative car diagnostic software

Only interested in using the apps and will not be long coding.

I've downloaded the OBDeleven app and bought the OBDeleven First Gen device from Amazon
However, I'm unable to connect via the app
I have tried with the ignition on/engine running, with wifi/data and of course BT
It brings up a list of BT devices but I've tried them all without success
    Shouldn't it just connect?
    What am I missing?
The quick start guide was no help
The device does glow red when inserted

I bought it from their website. It was cheaper than Amazon.
You pair the device through the app. Click on “Home” then “Connect” it will only show the obdeleven device.

For C8 you need to have ignition ON and bonnet OPEN when you code.

I take it you mean bonnet open just for coding and not also to connect the app?

First dongle from Amazon was faulty (couldn't pair) but second one direct from OBDeleven (a bit cheaper) paired OK
I initially ran a scan and have the 3 errors below, any guidance would be welcome
09 Central Electrics, U112300 - Databus error value received, Intermittent
19 Gateway, U140600 - Static current too high, static
A5 Driver Assistance, C12B3FD - Driver assistance systems front camera Temporary view limitation, Intermittent
I believe the third code is related to issue of multiple errors related to any assist functions, e.g. traffic sign recognition, main beam assist etc. as they are all dependent on the front camera
I recently had my car in for diagnostics for this and the memory seat issue where the seat may reset during moving (seat issue fixed by a SW update)
The Driver assistance issues are caused by the car going in to 'Fog Mode', if the camera is limited for more than 77s then this mode is triggered (systems may restore by themselves once the view is clear)
Condensation on the lens can cause this although the camera does have a heating element but might explain why it often occurs shortly after start?
From my own experience low sun appears to trigger the Fog Mode too
What it doesn't explain is why my C6 never had theses errors as far as I can recall
Was told no SW update as this is expected behavior!
Other than ensuring the wind screen is clear in front of the camera what else can we do?
Has just occurred to me that perhaps there's an issue with the heating element and/or control of it
