I have recently been experiencing what i can only describe as a tappet noise at around/above 3000rpm.Car is a high mileage (198k) Polo 1.4 tdi engine code amf.
Having checked the clearances of the tappets i reckon they all need replacing but am worried about some wear on the camshaft whilst checking
I've taken some pics of camshaft, rollers etc....
    Any advice appreciated.
    Thanks

    Thanks Crasher.
Are these parts Main Dealer/TPS only or are they available elsewhere?
    Cheers

The bolts, rockers arms and cam bearings (I forgot to mention those) are certainly main dealer only as far as I can tell. The lifters are available from a number of companies (I would recommend either INA or Febi) and the cam is available from AE. Ajusa and Ruville but I would only fit genuine so I had the 2 year parts and labour warranty.

I am also quite convinced that i am having a bad cam shaft on my polo 1.4 tdi. Bad idling, low power and recently its started going into limp mode with boost related faultcodes. Would really appreciate if you could take a look at the pictures of my camshaft and see if that would be the problem. Ive uploaded them to imgur:
