    After long time fart arsing about ive now got decat, jetex full system new 710n bov fitted to car. ive NEVER noticed this before after ive given my car a good thrash why is my turbo glowing red??? is this normal. plus when i fitted a manual boost gauge i slowly increasd psi to a safe amount but he car hit 3000 revs and just made a thud and cut power?? then when checked turbo the whole bloody thing glowing red like a ufo. help

    Turbo is red due to exhaust gases pooring through it at a great rate.

    Normally this is only visable if it is poor light.

    That's why you never wash a hot engine as it would crack.

    You are recommended with a turbo to drive gently for the last couple of minutes to let it spin down and cool, otherwise you shorten it's life.

    so if i inrease boost like i did before the whole turbo glowed red that cant be normal

    Does sound if you are over boosting, which can cause a whole load of problems.

    I presume you understand how a turbo works and what the waste gate is used for. If not I will explain

    You're definately overboosting that turbo, check all the vacuum pipes are connected and in good order with no splits or colapsing under vacuum. Also check the waste gate maybe jammed shut.
