It looks like the usual inter valley shut off valve but on test I could not get it to show up although I could see some staining around the oil pressure changeover valve on the front of the engine but looking in the V with an Endoscope showed no signs of water and no steam or stink of coolant coming up after three hours under test but the under trays were drenched with coolant. I don’t get the service history, she bought it new and all the DSS system on erWin showed was the PDI and a workshop remark, then nothing! I did notice that the reservoir cap was a half turn from locked and the bottle stained with pink dust and wet with coolant and coolant stains all over the EGR cooler so I checked the level (perfect), pressure washed the lower covers and sent her off to see how it goes… I don’t want to pull the valley apart without firm evidence.

I’ve changed at my Audi Q7 3.0 TDI CRTC engine the exhaust camshafts at 59000km and now the car has 94000km, the service was done under warranty in December 2019, could you please here these two clips and tell me if you hear the camshafts clanking?

Water at 90c and oil at 80c

I’ve serviced the car only at Audi.

It is difficult to here in real life never mind on video but that sounds better on the right bank than the one I had here, the difference between sides was very noticeable with a distinct tapping on the right.

On the right side meaning on the ride side when you look at the car from outside of it?

The handing of a car and its parts is always specified as sitting in the drivers seat looking forwards.
