    Hello!

    I'm new in this forum and I hope you can help me with a problem I have;
    It is a Passat Variant 1.8T 2000 and the problem is that the central lock is working strange

    1) When I lock the SAFE is supposed to engage directly
    2) When I lock from inside the car ALL locks are supposed to lock

    3) This is what happens: Locking from the outside I have to turn the key 2 or 3 times to engage the SAFE but it locks on the first turn

    Locking inside the car all doors lock but then the driver door unlocks.

    When the temperature outside goes below about 15 degrees celsius it works as 1 and 2 but when the temp goes above 15 it starts as described in 3

    I have checked the electronics under the driver seat, checked all the wiring I have been able to find, all connectors I have been able to find, even checked inside the passenger door...Please advise me what can be the problem, how to find the root cause... The strange thing about the temperature drives me nuts...

    At first I thought that it was due to rain that it started to work but when it rains it becomes cooler so that was it, it does not need rain to work, only cool wheather...

    If you cant help me I will have to turn it over to the workshop but that will be costly...

    Best regards

    Tjompen/Sweden

    Hi again!

    I had my friend connect to the car with VAG-Com and found an error on the lock in the drivers door. I opened it up and resoldered the circuitboard inside the lock-mecanism. It did the trick.

    It took me less than 2 hours to do the work.

    (Found info on how to do the work on http://www.passatworld.com/ and http://www.taligentx.com/passat/)
