the fuse near the door panel seems to be OK, is there any other fuse anywhere else associated with the radio? thanks.

Most head units I've seen have an on board fuse as well. Worth popping it out for a look I reckon. Someone may come along who knows for sure soon.

Slightly off-topic, but my system has cut out (powered off) on it's own accord for the 3rd time. It happens then playing both CD's and listening to the Radio. It powers straight back up if I turn it on again.

    Any clues?

There is a fuse in the rear of the unit next to the wiring connectors. Normally 10 or 15 amp. If it's blown DON'T put a bigger one in.

You'll need a set of Audi release keys. There are four concealed slots, one in each corner near a corner button. Insert keys, out it comes.
