    Hi Guys,

Iv'e purchased myself a crashed damaged a6 avant, the damage is to the rear driver side quater. The key does't unlock the car and i have replaced the battery, power cut off fuse and tried holding the key to the syncronising area to no avail.

I've been told this has caused damage to the vehicles kessy unit however i cant find anywhere online that says anything about a kessy unit however apparently the CCM is located around the area that is damaged - above the fuse box, however looking at photos of a CCM it doesn't look like anything that is shown.

    My questions are:

Does anyone know if it's the CCM or Kessy Unit?

    Where Is this Located?

How do i replace one of these if it's broken?

Will the new CCM/Kessy unit need coding in?

Its the BCM which is mounted behind the right quarter panel trim. A bit further up from the pic you took. If its damaged it will need a new one matched to the vin of the car and coded online with ODIS for it to work and your keys too. If its intact ie opened and inspected for a broken circuit board etc then check your wiring for damage and shorts before replacing it. A damaged antenna will not cause issues
