    Hi,
    I'm unexpectedly in need of a new car. I've previously had two B6 A4s and a mk2 Octavia 4x4, all the original 1.9TDI PD engine which I'm a big fan of.
    I'm interested in a B7 A4 as I really loved the B6, but I'm not massively familiar with the specs, engines & any common issues with the B7 .

    I'd be wanting a pre-DPF 1.9TDI; were these still available on the B7? Is there an easy way to tell these apart from the DPF examples?
    What were the other engines like on these and what are the common issues to look for?

    You had some great cars there , the B7 is a downhill experience...
