2010 A6 Avant drivers side rear window not fully closing

Hi everyone...

My boy opened his window this morning, but it wouldn't fully close, and was still open by around 6 inches. If we tried to close it further, it either wouldn't move, or the window would go down, as if the sensor had detected an obstruction.

I managed to close it once we arrived home by fully opening it, and then pulling up on the window whilst also trying to close with the switch. However, I can see the that it is not fully closed along the top rear edge of the window.

I have tried searching but can't find anything specific to this model - I'm guessing the guides have broken, causing obstruction. But I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same issue?

Had this on mine some silicone rubber spray fixed it

We had this, it happened when we tried opening the windows when they were frozen, it loosened the clamp on the riser and so wouldn’t go up straight. I took the door panel off, tightened it all and greased as Dean says and it was fine. You can get the window shut for now by opening the door and have someone raise the window whilst you guide it up from inside and outside.

Thanks both. I've got the window shut, and looks like I'll be taking the door panel off this coming weekend.

I've got a leak on the headlight washers to take a look at too, although that looks to be more tricky. Possibly bumper off job.

Got that on mine too lol, fill it up few days later it’s empty

I had it on my last A6 too (a 2011 c6) but the garage fixed that for me. I've been looking at it and think it may be a bumper off job.

Have had the rear inner tail lights off today to wet sand and polish them. Ended up removing the lights to make it easier. So the washer fluid leak will have to wait for now.
