Hi My car cranks but does not start. No Glow plug light comes on and immob lights is yellow for a few seconds and goes out. Problem started when i was checking why the wipers would not work. Car was running fine (Glow plug light on for normal few secs and just wipers not working . Rear tailgate had stopped working couple of days before Also. I looked at firewall fuse box and fuses all seemed ok i then pulled the relays out to check for corosion on contacts and replaced them back to orig position. I then went under steering wheel and pulled the plastic cover off to get to the relays there, see 460 and 53 relay but all seemed ok (Wiggled them to make sure they were in) replaced cover and tried to start . Thats when it would not restart . Also Steering wheel light was amber and ESP light came on and stays on. Immobilizer light comes on for a few seconds and goes out. What is going on please help

I suspect you have disturbed the wiring to the immobiliser.

There is a coil of wire ( aerial ) that sits at the base of the ignition switch where the key goes into the lock.
When the ignition is turned on it sends an electromagnetic pulse to the immobiliser chip inside the key.
The chip in the key then sends an electromagnetic code back to the aerial coil, when it receives the code & as long as it is the correct code the immobiliser is disabled & lets the car start.

Suspect you have broken or disconnected something to do with the immobiliser aerial/ pickup.

The Steering wheel & ESP lights should clear once you can drive the car.

The engine cranks over but does it start and then immediately cut out and you get a flashing immobilser symbol and text warning?
