    When using vcds trying to change rear pads, I am getting message ( controller not responding) can any body enlighten me ?

    What it's saying is that it's unable to " talk " data wise to the parking brake controller.

    Can your VCDS get responses from other modules on the car like 01 engine.

    If you can connect to other controllers you'll need to investigate the parking brake controller.
    Might be a faulty module, loose plug or broken wires etc.

    On the 8W it is not done in address 53 Parking Brake as it does not have a separate controller, it is done in address 03 ABS.
