    For 1.9TDi Quattro SE Avant
Its a bugger trying to figure out correct springs for this. Ordered springs from ******* which were supposedly suitable for my car but car is lower at back now that they ( TRW JCS634) are fitted. The fact that my car is a quattro with non sports suspension seems to throw their system out and others too as this part is listed as correct on other sites. ******* now acknowledge these springs are not suitable. I might just get OEM ones from Audi as I think Ill keep the car another 10 years if I can, I like old stuff and can still see beauty in the cars lines plus lots of sentimental value in it.

The old springs were from factory and have two green and one white dot, I think code on vin shows me as having 1BA rear springs. I did fit a towbar years ago so if I'm buying OEM it would be nice to get springs that accommodate that extra fitted weight.

So, anyone know what springs I need at rear to accommodate that towbar and have my ride height stay at standard suspension height. I have tried searching here but I can't see anything. Would code from factory stay at 1BA if a car was supplied with towbar fitted or does it appear as something else, this may help me figure out at parts desk? Actually, if anyone here has a vin for a 1.9tdi quattro SE Avant with factory fitted towbar that could also help.

If you private message me your REG or VIN I can tell you what ETKA FI suggestion says the VAG part number and cooler code was when built.

The rear spring part number is 8E0 511 115 DA but the only aftermarket part I would fit is a Suplex 03189

Well, finally installed the suplex springs. Good result and ride height looks right, its parked on a slope in photo so would be even better on the level. One side slightly lower but hopefully that settles out after a bit if use although its hard to see much difference in the photos. Roll bar drop links needed to be replaced too as they had disintegrated. While looking underneath I spotted this rust around one of the spring mounting area, I suspect this might eventually after a few more years be the death of the car, which is a shame as I'm rather attached to it.

I am seeing some terrible floor and chassis leg rot on Audi's not even 10 years old. The 96 A4 we had to scrap because of an air bag spares unavailability issue was spotless underneath and outside, they don't build emm like they used to!

Crasher, any chance you'd be so good as to give me a part number or reccomendation for a shock absorber to match that spring? I was going to replace my disintegrated rubber bumpers but seeing as I'm removing the shock to do that and with the mileage that's on them I might as well bite that little bullet too and do it right. I had shortlisted sachs 312783 or meyle1267250025 Cheers.
