Whilst looking for the cause of my overnight battery drain I discovered a 2.5amp load when the earth terminal was disconnected. By pulling fuses in turn the load went from 2.5 to 0.18 when I pulled the central locking fuse out.
Can anyone think of a fault on the CL that would cause this please.

Have you checked the control unit to see if anything is wrong?

It's located under the carpet where the front passenger's feet are, just back a bit toward the seat. It's inside the plastic box under there.

You'll need to remove the carpet trim along the door aperture to get in there. They are notorious for getting wet from leaks and compromised from that and corrosion to the board edge connections.

Look a couple of threads down below this one to "lights flashing" post as that describes some of the problems if yours is wet.

Nice today so pulled the carpet up on the drivers side (RHD car). Carpets soaking but I can't find a module. I checked the N/S or passenger side, carpets dry, and there is a module there that looks looks to be in good order. Should there be another module under the righthand side?

Most parasitic electrical drains are aftermarket accessory/radio related.
