Screenshot_20210215_195654_com.applagapp.vagdpf.jpg this is a screenshot of the DPF measures, I've been advised the the oil ash shouldn't be zero. Anybody have any ideas why this wouldn't be measured?

I would compare MAF specified value and MAF actual value while driving to find out turbo lack of performance.

Update, Turbo was sticking so had it refurbished. Likely culprit is the catalytic converter which is rattling. I've been advised that this will need replacing or the turbo could fail again. Great!

We did one a couple of weeks ago for another garage who had been fighting it since November. They had fitted a recon turbo, had the DPF cleaned (badly) and done all sorts and were befuddled so we took it on, the reductant injector was dribbling and caused the primary SCR system cat to get blocked with urea crystals which caused excessive back pressure and subsequent under boost fault code. Also it caused the DPF upstream to become blocked... over £4k in new genuine parts....

Agree Crasher, nightmare. I have to find a ad blue compatible catalyst now. Copy part from a Polish company is around £500. A scrappy wanted £750 for a 2nd hand part. A genuine part is just under £1700 new. OUCH!!!

I will only fit genuine or known good used original cats and DPF's, I won't touch aftermarket. The part you need is VW part number 7N0 254 400 N or NX if buying genuine as it is exchange. I would consider the aftermarket version from Ernst but they are out of stock and only a few hundred cheaper than genuine with a far easier to use warranty if required.

As a temporary solution the garage has removed the cat and gave to me so that I can find a part. They have replaced ot with a straight through pipe. However the car was smoking on acceleration and I'm now hunting for a replacement CAT.

If it is smoking that means there is something wrong further upstream and a new cat will get damaged very quickly.

Could it be the Adblue that's causing the smoke, I guess with no cat there it is just burning off in exhaust?
