During this coronavirus outbreak my Tiguan has spent more time parked in my garage than being driven on the road, so I was thinking of buying a plug-in charger to keep the the battery trickle charged, after it struggled to start recently.

Firstly, can I do this with the Tiguan (using the socket in the boot, preferably) and has anyone had experience with the NOCO Genius5UK, please?

    Thank you

The problem is, VAG decided the accessory sockets (go on Steve, stop being PC... call it a fag lighter) cut out with the ignition off... does the boot socket stay live ignition off?

I am using draper charger on my one and does the job. Not through the socket in the boot though. I use it straight on the battery.
