    Hi
    Have a mk4 golf tdi estate 2001,
it has developed the following problem,
The heater fan in the cabin will only work on the higher speed settings, ie 3 an 4 on the panel,
this is coupled with the air con not switching in - to clarify this
if i press the air con switch with no heater fan selected or in pos 1 or 2 which arent working , the A/C switch lights up and the natural flow from the movement of the car sends cooled air through the system,
however as soon as the heater fan is selected to position 3 or 4 the air con switch light goes out, and the cool air dissapears.

    any help / advice appreciated.

    thanks in advance

    glyn
