    Hi all,

    2014 Seat Leon with 1.6 diesel J623-CLHA 95K miles.

Rather confused as the Engine light has come on but there's no errors as such in VCDS (see later).

The "auto scan" brought up a glow plug issue and a Neutral Gear sensor.

My first thought was maybe a DPF issue but the ash volume and soot levels don't look too bad?

I cleared alll the DTC's which extinguished the MIL

The thing that caught my eye was this:

VIN: VSSZZZ5FZER081161 License Plate: KV14 FFE

    Address 01: Engine (04L 906 021 M)

    17:28:48
IDE00433 Particle filter: oil ash volume 0.08 l
IDE00434 Particle filter: soot mass calculated 21.10 g
IDE00435 Particle filter: soot mass measured 4.89 g

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Readiness Status: 00000000 00001110 11101000 11101000
    MIL Status: MIL OFF
    Comprehensive Components: Passed
    Fuel System: Passed
Exhaust Gas Recirculation: Failed or Incomplete

    Number of EOBD-related DTC(s): 0

Is this pointing to the dreaded EGR valve being duff?

    Or something else?

    Thanks in advance.

    Andy.

The loading in the DPF is too high, give it a forced regen

    Crasher, you're a star .

After a regen with VCDS it looks like this:

    Address 01: Engine (04L 906 021 M)

    11:15:32

IDE00432 Particle filter: time since last regeneration 7092 s
IDE00433 Particle filter: oil ash volume 0.08 l
IDE00434 Particle filter: soot mass calculated 1.51 g
IDE00435 Particle filter: soot mass measured -9.08 g
IDE00436 Particle filter: kilometers since last regeneration 57361 m (don't understand this one as she hadn't moved??)

And the engine light has gone out.

Sorry for not doing my homework properly and finding out that the original figures were too high

    All the best.

    Andy.

Keep an eye on that EGR.

If it's sticking open the DPF will fill with soot much quicker than normal & will work against the DPF regenerating.

    Thanks for that.

It's my son's car but sounds like it might be worth serious consideration of what to replace it with.
