My friend had the brake warning light (handbrake not ABS) and 3 loud beeps on start up. The car does not have electronic brake pad wear indicators, I checked the brake fluid level and tested the level sensor and checked and tested the hand brake switch.

I scanned with my VCDS and the only fault relaring to brakes was in the ABS module-65535 "internal control module memory error" Surely if the ABS module has gone it shoud show the ABS warning light on the dashboard? I'm hoping it isn't a fault with the wiring loom!

I had a similar fault on my 99 passat and it was just a case of swapping the ABS module with on with a used one with the same part number-No coding needed. If i do the same with the Ibiza will it be the same or will it need coding?

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

ABS module failure with the Bosch units is a problem, the software corrupts itself. Which part number controller, 6Q0 907 379 C, D, F, G, H, M, L, AA, AM? D and H are obsolete with supersession.

Typical, the one I missed so I added it. ECU 6Q0 907 379 G is replaced by 6Q0 907 375 G which is £933.80 but it is a rare one that VAG actually offer as an exchange unit (probaly because it is so unreliable) under part number 6Q0 907 375 GX which is a little more bearable at £670.34.
