M4ttv, it was through the WeConnect app. Not sure if the link will work but try this. It’s just a contact form but I found them informative and useful. They helped confirm the settings in the car were right and made sure I was running the correct version of the app. I’ve not had any problems with the greyed out globe for quite a while now.

Anyone else been logged out of their profile on the infotainment system recently? I sat into my car this evening for the first time in a few days and I was randomly asked to login. I entered all my details correctly (double checking to make sure they’re correct) and it won’t log me in! I’m getting an error “sorry, unable to load your settings”. I can only use guest mode! Very annoying!!

I take it you’ve changed your privacy settings in guest mode to ‘share my position’ - and that the globe on top right of the infotainment screen is lit up? Guest user mode is set to most restrictive privacy by default, and in that state won’t connect to VW servers.

Apologies if you’ve already done this .....

My car went into West London VW on Thursday, they simply updated the software, no replacement of infotainment system, no change of steering wheel. Got it back today, been out for a couple of hours, have given it a through test, its a million miles away from where it was when I took it in. No click pop, no SOS, keyless entry works. Recognises me as the primary user. If the car stays like this I'm totally chuffed. I'll post back if anything changes. Hope other have had theirs resolved.

Had my car go in today with the keyless entry issue, and seems all fixed door handle detection wise, but the unlock on approach I haven’t tested thoroughly yet. Software update wise it’s still set to 1664 I believe. Luckily Never experienced they constant dings and pop ups you guys had.

I did have the we connect login issue this week twice, simply solved by switching the infotainment system off and on again. Not popped up yet so far.

    Hey,

I've picked up my Golf yesterday and software version is 1788

They replaced the steering wheel to a new one before I've picked it up.

So far no issues - so finger cross!

In some countries with the 1788 sw (Unit 816D Pro or 820D Media) they have Android Auto Wireless working. Also You can view the VW maps on the Dashboard too by enabling it in the options window (3 horizontal lines).

Sorry to say one day after the car started to play up again, Click pop, SOS, infotainment not loading, steering wheel heater keeps coming on, it even called the SOS number by itself and I couldn't stop it. Its going back in, software is still 1666 (not sure if the three 6s are a bad omen. Good new, keyless entry works now! Car will be going back in.

Mine is 1666 too and had a LOT of issues. Def something to do with the 666 lol!!!

Had car back at dealer for software upgrade, it still says 1666 but (touch wood) all good so far, although data connection is usually greyed out but still seems to work!
