    Fascinating - what a coincidence!

I wish I could have taken a copy of the service bulletin but that wasn't on offer....

Ours still working ok this morning.

Apologies for jumping on this thread - but I've just taken delivery of a new Golf last week and this afternoon the screen on the infotainment system decided to get stuck at the 'loading settings' screen and no matter what I do I can't seem to get rid of it. Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.

Also, apologies to Handydave because I used your name as a referrer to register.

    Thanks in advance

Press and keep hold of the power on the infotainment. Forces a rest after about 20 seconds

@Tichier - hi, and welcome to the forum. Hopefully @jmagee’s solution sorts it.
@jmagee - does this force a hard reset (loses user settings) or a soft reset (retains user settings)?

Thanks for your suggestions - I've just tried that and my hopes were lifted when I saw the "Welcome.." screen, but it then shows the image of the car, spinning symbol and "loading settings" text. I don't recall doing anything different - just got in the car, pressed the button and that was it. No sat nav, radio etc - and the dashboard seems to think I'm elsewhere in the country as it's displaying 20mph signs and roundabouts when I'm on the A1.

Just an update - car booked in this Thursday morning so I'll let you know what they say.

Not sure if it's connected but since this issue I've been unable to unlock the boot separately. I have to unlock the whole of the car which then unlocks the boot

Hi, I had this same issue. It was frustrating as I could not access the satnav and I did not know where I was! Thankfully it seemed to fix itself having left it overnight.

While being stuck 'loading' mine was also confused about the country I was in and driving down an A-road the adaptive cruise control kept trying to speed me up to over 100 mph!

Mine does the same - except it's trying to slow me down! It also says it has no data for the area. I might try and leave mine overnight with the panel switched on and see if that does anything.

The only saving grace from all this is that I've been without a radio in the car since Wednesday so managed to avoid most of the coverage from the US and their election!
