• Seven-seat SUV receives new Real Driving Emissions stage 2 engines
  • Tarraco certified under tighter NOx limits laid down by Euro 6d-Final standards
  • RDE2 certification available on both petrol and diesel engines, FWD and 4Drive, manual and DSG
  • Tarraco available from £28,545 available to order at www.seat.co.uk/Tarraco

The SEAT Tarraco is now available to order with both petrol and diesel engines that are certified under stringent new NOx emissions targets, Real Driving Emissions stage 2 (RDE2), ahead of mandatory compliance from January 2021.

The seven-seat SUV, Tarraco offers one of the widest range of RDE2-certified line-ups on the market today, with either a petrol or diesel engine, manual or automatic transmission, as well as front-wheel drive and 4Drive drivetrain system.

RDE2 legislation states that diesel cars must emit 80mg/km or less of NOx, while petrol cars must emit less than 60mg/km. Tarraco’s compliance is the latest evidence of the continuous work SEAT and CUPRA is doing to drive down emissions and improve efficiency, and also means every model in the range has at least one RDE2 engine available.

All TDI units introduce a new twin dosing SCR system that includes dual AdBlue injection to significantly reduce NOx emissions compared to previous generation diesel engines. The result is a range of diesel engines that meet the strict requirement of Euro 6d-Final emissions standards.

Private and fleet buyers of the diesel variant benefit from the removal of the four per cent surcharge in Benefit-in-Kind (BiK), making it more affordable to buy and run. The Tarraco SE 2.0-litre TDI 150PS DSG costs £32,045 to purchase, emits only 143g/km of CO2 emissions on the WLTP cycle (47.1-51.4 combined mpg, WLTP) and has a BiK rate of 31 per cent.

Additionally, the certification results in a saving of up to £655* on first year vehicle exercise duty versus a non-RDE2 equivalent.
