CAYC injectors are chronically unreliable, 3 and 4 certainly look like they are on their way .

Thank you Crasher. Do the figures look bad enough to cause bad MPG and lumpy idle?

Funnily enough Injectors 1 and 2 have a completely different code sequence to 3 and 4. Could this be that they've been replaced?

    Injector 1 - 99CGFG
    Injector 2 - 90FGFD
    Injector 3 - A2HEFJ
    Injector 4 - A1KFGG

Not sure if that means anything.

The hard bit is, if they're failing then I'd like them to be sorted under the warranty from the garage. The car has 71k on the clock with a full FVSH so it's been looked after, I can't see a reason for a claim rejection. The question is, how do you go about sorting that out.

It looks like 1 and 2 are newer so now it is due 3 and 4. The only ones I will fit are genuine Siemens VDO or genuine VAG from TPS, I won't fit recons or used, too many bad nightmares. The figures in your original post when hot are way out of spec and yes they would cause all sorts of running problems.

    Thank you Crasher.
Regarding the suggestion for checking circulation temps, I assume this is measuring water temps at the sensor and the radiator?

I can't see the point. The worry with getting them done under warranty is they are going to fit the cheapest they can find and that is a recipe for doing it twice. Bear in mind though that the garage has been shafted by the person they bought it from, the previous owners have more than likely been told it needs two more injectors after the last two were done and decided to get rid and make it someone else's problem.

    Thank you again.
The warranty allows me to use a garage of my choice providing they're VAT registered. I can speak to the garage and make sure they use TPS.

Genuine exchange injectors 03L 130 277 SX are insane money at £468.84 each, a VAT registered garage with an ECP account can get brand new Continental VDO items A2C9626040080 under the ECP number 432441025 for a lot less than from TPS allowing them to have their slice of the cake and still charge less than genuine, ECP have 1329 in stock... that tells you something! ECP still want the old ones back, presumably so they can make cheap recons at some point. We have used these VDO OE parts and they are perfect.

Where would you recommend i buy them from if i do the job my self? And what cost would i expect?

    So avoid the ecp ones?

Edit* just looked at ecp and they're showing as Siemens. So they'd be OK?

Yes ECU only appear to have Siemens VDO new at the moment. The price retail looks to be higher than genuine.

Ecp retail price can be discounted by ordering online for delivery or collection using the discount codes provided on the site itself. For r the injectors listed for my Cayc it brings the price down to £334 from £499
