    Hi,

I have an A8 3.0 TDI 2007. my engine has starting hunting when idle and also when driving. Had a look under the bonnet and can see a solenoid flicking back and fore in the top centre of the engine bay. Anyone know what this part is or a link to it?

I’ve got a pic and video but can’t see where to upload on this forum.

    thanks,

    Nigel.

Sounds like it is the EGR cooler vacuum solenoid. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Exhaust-g...-/233171554596 Try using a hand vacuum pump to check the vacuum system for leakdown. If the pipes are air-tight, try the vacuum solenoid for the EGR (not EGR cooler). I think it is the one nearby that says MADE IN USA on a round cover on the top, if not it is the one behind the headlight near the fans.

which is illegal in Europe and poisons the lungs of the innocent. Personally I see it as a criminal offence which should be punished accordingly and anyone who removes legally mandated emissions equipment (especially from a fuel of the Devil engine) should be ashamed of themselves, killing people by lung disease just to save yourself a few shekels, disgusting...

In Holland it is not illegal if you pass the emission test. Please get of your high horse and check the local regulations. Disgusting

If you look at the address of this site it is .co.uk, not .nl, however it is illegal anywhere in Europe to remove legislated emissions equipment, the annual emissions test has nothing to do with it if the tester is complicit with breaking the law, people like you are the reason air quality levels have failed their test and idiot politicians now want to ban the internal combustion engine. If you cannot follow the law on emissions, what other laws are you prepared to break? Stay off this forum with your illegal views or I will ban you...
