Hi All

My normally reliable local tyre shop replaced the factory fit Continental tyres in late 2019 with Dunlop RT Maxx 285/45/20 112Y, which generally get decent reviews.

The first batch had one (or more?) faulty tyres. A slight bump at any speed and increased with increasing speed, so after some discussion all were replaced. It did not appear to be a normal "Balance" issue

Winter intervened, and my winter wheels went on. So finally the set of replacement summer wheels went on a few weeks ago, and after a few motorway trips I can now detect a very slight steering vibration at 120kph ( 70mph). Not enough to be immediately obvious, but on a good surface from once you feel it you can't ignore it.

So either 1) Simply they did not balance the tyres correctly. OR 2) These Dunlops are not Audi "OE" approved. Is this significant? I would have expected they are equivilant quality, there was no price differential, but these were immediately available.

This Q7 has the air suspension, and one thing I love on the car is the sublime ride quality. Anything that interferes is a huge irritant.
