Hi hope someone can help? I have a 2008 A5 3.0TDI QUATTRO and have fitted a new Throttle body - it is dropping the revs off at idle and throwing up the the following fault codes :-

    'implausible position signal'
    'open circuit intermittant'

Do i need to run an adaption? - problem is there is no option in VCDS, BASIC SETTINGS drop down to do it?

Or have i been sold a faulty new unit ?

    I bought a Febi - 46601 T.B

Yes the 2 codes are 5301- Throttle actuator control circuit p2100 00 [100] and 5308 - throttle body actuator bank 1 (j338) p0638 00 [036] I have just fitted back the rough sounding old unit, and both codes have cleared?

That is the correct Febi number to replace 4E0 145 950 J (£532.50 inc VAT genuine) and it would be highly unusual for a Febi part to be faulty but it does suggest it is. If I had been doing the job now I would have had to go for a Pierburg unit (roughly £450 retail, £479.99 Euro Car Parts retail) as they are on backorder with Febi which does concern me.
