Hi All, I'm having difficulty changing my Passat B8 driver's side wing mirror. Everything is fine until I operate the windows at the end. The harness is catching on the window mechanism. All the harness clips are in the correct holes and I've tried threading the mirror harness through when both the window is up and the window is down. I think there is a specific way to thread the cable through the window mechanism. Please help!

It isn't an uncommon issue on many doors so you must have it routed slightly incorrectly; sometimes an extra tie wrap helps

Thanks Crasher . I've now solved the issue and yes it was a routing issue. I had to remove the door speaker to enable me to gain adequate access to ease the cable into its position rather than fit the external harness clips and then force the internal clip into place. This did involve the drilling out and replacement of 6 pop rivets but it certainly saved me a few quid and now I've got a brand new pop riveter . A warning if anyone else is doing this is that the speaker body is predominantly plastic so be careful removing and re-installing the rivets to avoid damage.
