I've done 150 miles on the present tank of petrol but for some reason, the gauge is still reading 100% full. (I know that at an average of 22mpg it shouldn't be!(V6 4motion)) It drops when the ignition is turned off, but turn it on and the needle goes straight to full again.
    Any ideas?

Ours V6 4M Golf does this which in our case means it needs a new instrument pack but it could also be a sticking float sender as I have seen that as well.

Most cars do this as the tank is tapered so you tend not to get much movement then you will see the fuel gauge drop until about a quarter, then it seems to dissapear.

    Hope that makes sense.
