As ever, the question is about out 53 plate Touran, but posting here due to more passing traffic...

Battery has a tenancy to go flat faster than I'd expect. Finally got around to putting a multi-meter in circuit at battery (measuring full car load) and one in possible suspect fuse paths (ie, unplug fuse in cabin and put meter in place of it).

With everything locked up car settles down to drawing about 100mA at battery, with 90mA of that going through fuse 53 - convenience system central control unit. Is that too high? Sounds high-ish, but perhaps not enough to drain battery a quickly as I'm seeing. Those readings are on the 10A range, so may have a digit or so error in them.

We have two very similar VAGs I've put the same meter into the fuse slot for the convenience system on the other one and it seems to only draw 10mA after the car has shut down. So I'm guessing 100mA is higher than intended. Now to work out where it is going...

I don’t like to see anything more than 0.05amp when the CAN BUS has gone to sleep.
