    Hi all,
I wonder if anyone has found or knows where the alarm siren is fitted on the Plus. I know its under the front right wing o the Mk5 but would like confirmation before I strip out the wheel liner.
Got a parasitic load on battery and have eliminated everything else but the alarm horn which isn't working.
Finding fuse info about the Plus is a nightmare, but now know its covered by fuse 22 in the dash fusebox.
    Thanks in advance,
    Geoff

Fuse info for any modern VAG product is a sketch even with the workshop system ELSA as there are so many variations and change points. Quite often I find this parasitic drain is the alarm going off without anyone noticing the flashing indicators and because the siren is faulty you don’t hear it. Yes it is up inside the right wing cavity and has a riveted on cover.

    Thanks Crasher.
Will try another siren and see how it gets on.
    Part number is listed as 1KO 951 605 (*)
This seems to be fitted to different models with a different suffix letter.
Wonder if theyr'e all the same but newer the higher the letter ? a-b-c-d....

    Thanks for that.
Sound like any suffix will do if I do get a used one. Later the better.
Strange that it worked when I disconnected the battery to look for the parasitic drain, but when everything was reconnected it's just silent.
Have checked every fuse on the car and they're all fine. OBD code reader says 01134 Alarm horn 004 no communication.
The joys of modern cars DUH !

Often I just code them out of the inconvenience unit, alarms are a waste of time anyway.

Very nicely put "(in)convenience unit" LOL
Don't know if my code reader will rewrite ( its a Foxwell NT510) but I'll take a chance and get the latest siren I can and see what happens.
Don't think the alarm was going off but maybe the siren battery was on its last legs and constantly trying to recharge - that may have been the drain.
    Thanks again, Geoff

On the Passat 3B and various Audi models I call it the incontinence unit in reference to its ability to get wet.

    Tell me about it !!!!
Had a B5.5 that leaked water through the air intake (blocked drains under battery) flooded the ecu and passenger footwell. Had to cut out a section of loom and replace.
    Fun and games
    Haha
