I noticed a rattle from the left front wheel today. Turned out to be loose wheel bolts. What I don't understand is why only the bolts on the left front wheel were loose. I mean, every wheel bolt was torqued to 120 Nm.

    Any suggestions?

No recent work has been done. Last time I took that wheel off was because of a stone-in-brake issue. I'm certain I torqued all the bolts down.

So, the only physical and logical explanation would be that someone did this. The evidence is that the one bolt on the wheel that wasn't loose was the lock bolt.

Thanks for giving it some thought. I had to check with you guys before I decided on a solution. Thanks.

That does sound suspiciously like malicious intent.

Yes it does. Maybe I should swap out all bolts with lock bolts. I've actually experienced this one other time on my A6 C5, and with the same wheel too, front-left. I guess there's a lot of hate out there.

What is worrying is that only the bolts on the left front wheel are loose, especially since you previously tightened them all to torque slope appropriate torsion (120 Nm).
