    Hi Evryone,

I have just had my TDI Services took it to work and was told that i have a bit hanging down under my car.

Phoned the local garage to get the engine cover pinned back up.

Then driving home tonight i heard a loud clacking noise comming from the side of my car then a dragging noise.

Stopped the car and saw the engine cover hanging on the road (i presume the clacking noise was the bolts comming off)

I have pushed it back up for now till i can get to a garage,

But what i dont understand is why it has happened again after it took them 20 mins to pin it up???

Also is this just the engine cover or something more?

Im going to take it back to the same garage whare it got fitted and ask them to fit it properly but does it need ant special bolts or clips to go back up again?

Worse thing is i have to goto work early tommorrow so wont be able to get to a garage till im finished.

Can anyone give me any advice if this has happened to them or what to do.

    Thanks

There held on with spire clips and screws but these shields often break so might be worth fitting new fixings or drilling the shields and cable tie them together might be a more permenant fix,you could just jack car up and take the shield off until

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply i have talked to the garage and was told that they have a engine cover off of another mark 4 so i can have that.

Im being told that it was bought new but the guy just asked for it to be taking of totally so i have got that and spoke to volkswagon and proper clips and bolts will be in next week!

The garage said i could just completly remove it as its just a add on.
But i dont belive that as i ma being told its to protect the elect when its wet weather.

    Is this correct?

    Thanks
