This thread is eight years old and VAG COM 309 is even older! What are you trying to achieve? If there are any AKL login codes, the latest VCDS has them as pop up help boxes in many cases, although with a heavy USA market bias but as far as I am aware there are no login codes for the AKL.

hi, I want to increase idle speed. all golf 4 can increase idle speed from "engine-adaption-channe01" (hxxp://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/vwmkIV.html) but im my mk4 i saw "not available" in all channel of engine.
Vag com 309 is old but is compatible with mk4.
Do you think that with new vcds I can set idle speed?
    thanks

PS. my mk4 is italian year 2000

The idle speed for an AKL cannot be adjusted. If you have no fault codes but a low idle, clear the learnt values in "Adaptation 10, group 00" and do this three times. Then go into basic settings and carry out group 098 and allow it to run for 30 seconds, then exit and turn off the ignition for 30 seconds, then try it again.

It is ignition on, engine not running. The software engineers who wrote the program did not provide a value for adjusting the idle like certain others cars have such as my AUQ engined 2003 Octavia, I have set my idle to the maximum because it is smoother. Engineers set the idle is set as low as possible to reduce emissions.

very thanks tomorrow I will try to throttle alignment
PS. my idle speed at warm is 780-800 rmp, but car cold is around "850-900" and car is more more smoother. Unfortunately I cannot set this

That is how it should be and how it will have to be. One point to make, be sure that the throttle cable is not too tight and holding the throttle slightly open when released. AKL throttle bodies are very unreliable and often need replacing.

Have an assistant press the throttle pedal all the way down and hold it, feel the cable at the throttle body end to see if it feels to tight. If it needs adjusting, remove the circlip and with the throttle fully depressed, pull the cable through the rubber grommet until it is tight and fit the circlip on the last visible position. Then with the pedal released, move the circlip along one more position. Now check to make sure the cable has a little slack at the throttle body fitting, the cable must not open the throttle at all.
