    I have recently become the proud father of a beautiful baby boy. I want to be able to turn off my passenger side airbags so I can have him in the front with me. Can anybody help???

    You will require a deactivation kit from vw.There will be a document that requires filling out so the dvla are notified of deactivation and then its just a case of deselecting the airbag via diagnostic equipment,some systems require a resistor to be installed to the airbag connector to completely disarm the airbag.Also there will be a sticker in the kit to place on the dash to indicate the airbag is deactivated and the airbag light will flash for a 10 seconds when you start the car to warn the driver.

    Great info...

    I was searching the internet for any information on Golf MkIV Mk4 airbag deactivation and this post certainly solved the problem.

    Love this forum!!!

    Plus, keep hold of the deactivation certificate and the dealer will re-activate it for free when the time comes!
