I understand why you've made multiple posts, but it makes it hard to build a consolidated set of replies and advice.

I'm assuming some of the core coding on dash cluster or other component has been trashed. Even if I came to visit I'd have no idea what coding would fix it, unless your friend happened to leave a copy of the "before" settings.

If someone knows what default coding would get it working again I'd try.

So you used genuine VCDS software with a fake cable? Maybe a hacked genuine VCDS that only works with that cable?

Either way normal thing would have been to do a full scan and save the results, or at least of the modules you were going to adjust. This wiuld then keep a record of the original settings to revert to if anything was odd afterwards. Do you have a saved scan? It would usually end up in the LOGS folder where VCDS is installed.

You have other replies in your other threads from people closer to you. Easier if they try first. Happy to try and guide them remotely, although its a problem I've never fixed before.

If you find that file, open it up and cut / paste the bit that relates to instrument cluster here it may encourage folk that they can help you.

Not wanting to cause unnecessary anxiety, but are you confident about the car's history. Seems odd yhat a UK car would be showing km, and could be a sign of hacked cluster to hide mileage or stolen car (immobiliser is in cluster I think). So it could have been petfectly good hacked VCDS () confounded by hacked car.
