it was a little slow starting yesterday but thought battery....
so i have taken the exhaust off, and what i thought was the dpf, the dpf looks clear. though the fault wont clear even though the part is removed, i would have expected a different code...
anyway this has got me thinking the dpf underneath the car is not the one throwing a fault. though etka discribe the cat at the side of the engine as a cat, and my part removed the dpf, where should i be looking?
it is a 2010 A6 3.0 TDI Quattro Auto CDYA i think it is my dpf has 4F0131701EQ stamped on it.

Battery looks a bit suspect according to the freeze frame data and a clogged DPF is nothing unusual, we have one of those in bits at the moment with a melted DPF.

Actually looking at yours it is different to the V6 we are doing which has the close coupled all in one system, yours is under the car with the catalyst separate and further back up, so yours is easier to remove and costs much less if it needs replacing.

I have the dpf under the car off, it looks spotless inside. 3 bolts on the flange have rotted out though due to heat.

So if i have it in regen mode via vcds would the glow plug light be flashing? So many codes for a 2009 A6 cdya
But think i have it locked down to
    Security access 27971
    Then basic settings 226 go.
Glowplug light then flashes but goes out if u touch anything.

I struggle to get VCDS to do regens on some cars so I usually use ODIS, in most cases I can remember the DPF light comes on but not a flashing glow plug.
