    im guessing thats the pipe from the master cylinder that goes down to the slave cylinder bleed nipple ? is it rubber/metal or what ?

    ok, the car is now in for a new slave and clutch as predicted by crasher, found a wet inner bellhousing and a worn but functional clutch so thank you Crasher, i think we both knew you were right, but ..

    Hi newbie here I'm having the same sort of fault I have not had the pedal go to the ground but a few weeks ago lost my gears, I bleed the system and it was fine for 2 weeks then went again. I've replaced the master and the concentric slave but the system is just full of air, I have used an easy bleed and banged god knows how many litres through but its still happening , no leaks . Can any body advise on how to bleed a 2014 Vw Passat with a concentric clutch please

    You need a pressure bleeder and a special technique. With one person on the nipple, pump the pedal and hold it down with your hand, then ask the other person to open and then close the nipple and only then, pull the pedal back up and keep repeating this but it works best with a pressure bleeder.

    We have come across this problem a few times before not only on vw s the fuel lines on vehicles nowadays are push on fits with a small green o ring which goes hard after awhile these do not show up as a leak but losing the pedal after a time. i believe re placing your fuel lines will cure your problem

    Hi, sorry I can't answer your problem but I do have a very similar issue with my2014 Passat Executive TDI BMT . I have only just joined the forum and sorry am clueless when it comes to car mechanics - however, reason for me joining the forum and replying to you is that I bought my car the other week from a 2nd hand dealer (with 105k miles) that came with a 6-month Warrantywise warranty. But after two weeks of no problems my clutch pedal first suddenly got spongy and then soon got stuck down fully in a slow moving traffic queue (my active start/stop was engaged at the time witht he clutch depressed to re-start it and so I wondered after if that might be linked to the cause?). Anyway I had to call recovery and it has now been in the garage for a few days after which they say they cant find a fault and it is now working fine (they pulled the clutch up by hand they say but it was stuck hard fast the day I broke down). Warrantywise have said as no fault is visible they will not sanction any repair or replacement under warranty. So reading your wifes account it sounds a very similar issue. If you do manage to work out the fault (and if it is this unknown seal) please let me know as I feel I am now driving a bit of a time bomb where the clutch could go at any time.
