    Default Oil fuel mixing – 03-11-2007,11:31 PM
    Hallo Friends

    I've been earing some comments on mixing vegetable oil on fuel to have sheaper fuel.
    Is this rpocedure save?
    Can I damage the motor by doing this?
    Has anybody tried this solution?
    Wich vegetable oil should I use and how mutch by tank load?

    PD diesels don't take kindly to this and as one genuine injector is nearly £500...

    I heard this tip from friends of mine that used to work on VW Sharan plant in Palmela-Portugal. I know some of them use 50% vegtable oil 50% diesel.

    Anyway, thanks for your reply. I will take it into consideration.

    i have been running a golf tdi for over 4 yrs and the only small prob is a puff of blue smoke first thing in the morn
    not bad for over 250k
    rich....
    yes the mix ratio is 50 -50 with veg oil

    That golf tdi is one with a diesel pump, not a PD engine? I was surprised to see bio diesel specifically banned in the manual and filler cap on my new touran - I presumed for this same reason ?
