Hey guys,

I have a MKV Jetta and recently I've noticed that when somewhat hard turning at low speeds (like turning left out of a junction etc.), there is a groaning noise.
The noise is essentially identical to the one found in this video: Groaning noise coming from front of car Audi A3 Sportback 2009 2.0 TDI - YouTube(that isn't my video, it's just one I found after a long time of searching.)

The reason I'm a bit confused with this one is the fact that when the clutch is pushed in, the noise completely disappears.

The video above was found in a forum wherein the OP said that it was caused by water contamination in the gearbox oil and was rectified by flushing and filling the oil a few times. Could this be the likely culprit? It seems a bit strange that the gearbox would be causing this, given that it only happens when turning hard. I'd be afraid to flush the gearbox oil, however, as I have heard of problems arising when changing it.

Thanks for any help!
