Hi everyone.I have already checked the forum for similar issue to mine as well as outside of it and still cant find a solution.I am after a bit of help from you guys. The boot of my 09 Saloon will not open anymore. It's a not power operated boot but just the normal type that pops open from key fob or drivers door button. It stopped working last Sunday after a trip from Portsmouth to London so i have now been without a working boot for a week. The remote control fob will not open it,the small switch in the drivers door will not open it and nor will the actual boot release button on the boot itself. After some research i managed to get into the boot by lowering the back seats and opened the boot manually. Most of the info i could find also backed up by the VCDS scan i did pointed to the boot release micro switch so i went and ordered the hole locking mechanism from Audi for £62 hoping that it would solve the issue.Installed new part and still no luck.Whichever button i press there is no noise from the boot lock almost as if it's not getting any current from the battery.I have visually checked all the wiring and cant see anything wrong.
Is there a specially designated fuse in the fuse box that serves just the boot??I have had a look at both sides of the dash with fuse compartments and the RH side of the boot area but cant work out if there is indeed a special fuse just for the boot.
Also checked the settings in the MMI to make sure that i have everything switched to the ON position on the Central Locking.I don not have "valet mode" on the vehicle so can rule that out.I am a bit stuck at the moment.Any suggestions/Ideas at this point would be much appreciated..
Edit:Forgot to mention that i always check the plenum chamber to make sure the drainage holes are clear of any debris(always wash the car myself) and also when i crawl in the back to manually open the boot the light in the boot comes on and the DIS shows that the boot has been opened.

You need to check and see if the switch is getting power as the wire may be broken.

If you can get the trim on the boot lid off then you can use a 9v battery on the terminals on the lock connection to open the lock.

A bit awkward as you will have go in via the back seats and work lying down.

Thank you both for your replies.I did mange to get the boot opened from day one is just that i always have to lower the back seats and crawl in the boot to get it opened which is not ideal.
I stripped the trim off and replaced the boot locking mechanism but still no luck.VCDS scan comes up with the following: 01699-Motor for Central Locking:Hatch/Trunk 009-Open or Short to Ground.
I bought a multi meter and had a go at checking the wiring continuity from the boot to the fuse box in the boot compartment and not really sure if i was doing it correctly as I've never used one before.
Also pulled out and checked all of the fusses from both sides of the dashboard and the boot compartment and they all look OK to me.I also think it has to be a wiring fault but where i am absolutely USELESS with a multi meter i don't really stand a chance at finding out the issue.I have got it booked with a garage on Thursday so if i don't get it sorted by than hopefully they will. It's annoying because for a 10 year old car(5 and half years in my ownership) its been flawless so far.I was actually looking to sell it this month and get the FL C7 to see me with this new ULEZ zone that has come into force.I have been trying to attach some photos but i can't seem to work that out either.I am OK with spanners but not so much with wires and today's tech so to speak. Will definitely keep this thread updated and hopefully i can manage to post some pics also just in case someone else comes across this issue.

Hi bud.I took the car to a garage in the end.
From memory it was a wiring issue.
It didn’t cost much to be honest( at the time).
If you’re handy with a multimeter you could check the wiring first and if it’s all Ok than a new micro switch could be your next port of call along with checking the fuses either side of the dash and the ones in the boot.
Have you scanned it with VCDS??
