Just a quick message to say hello and I have a '99 Sharan 1.9 TDI which is LHD as I am abroad ...

However the local wild life have taken a keen interest in the wiring loom of it and have eaten through a cable that works the speedo.

Any thoughts, I never had problems in UK but I have been told it is not uncommon here (CH).

Can anyone let me know where the speed sensor is (I've only had the car a week ... sigh) and where the cables run.

    Thanks.

Hi The speed Hall sender is on the gearbox (left side) there are 3 wires which run into it.The green on white runs from the sensor to a 24 pin connector,on the left side of the engine, contact 10.From there it runs to the dash 28 pin connector pin 27.Hope this helps and get yourself a mouse trap.
