A6 avant 2014 MMI screen

Hi all new to the site so I am hoping the wealth of knowledge will help me out .

So here goes - I just bought the said Audi A6 about 4 weeks ago and my son decided it was really cool to crack the screen 😡

So I have been in touch with Audi and the replacement screen is 4G0919607

I have searched this serial and seen that it comes up with superseded numbers on the websites and I find the superseded parts on selling sites for cheap .so my question is will the superseded serialised items still do the job ? Is it Audi flogging you the newest model screen at £628 a pop !!? Does it have to have the exact serial?
Are there any implications with fitting etc .

Absolutely any help will be much appreciated as I just cannot pay that amount of money if the alternative is less than half the price and it’s a fix I can do myself .

That is not the serial number but the part number. You can buy used screens with the older part number but you have no idea of the condition and if there is damage to the anti-glare coating (very easily damaged). Audi only ever sell new screens with the latest part number, unless the dealer has some old stock and with it being a screen they won't have, as screens will be a special order item.

Hi. Also please note that if you have any cameras for headlights etc they will probably need to be recalibrated after replacement. If so better to get it done on your insurance at an accredited repairs.

It is the OPs MMI screen not the windscreen that is broken, shouldn't require any recalibration

Try and get one that matches the one you have already or a superceeded part no. dont get the one they suggested as your being a 2014 would possibly be at least an E version. not sure where they got £628 from as they are £1239. Looking for used ones make sure you check whether it sthe smaller screen of the larger one for the mmi high
