Hi guys, first time posting - help needed on entering radio code after battery disconnect. (Handbook not supplied with car). I have the code and unit is in "SAFE" mode. Unit is AUDI Concert Rad/Cassette with autochanger in boot. Cheers....

With safe on the display press and hold the TP and RDS buttons until 1000 appears. Enter you code number, once it's correct on the display press and hold TP and RDS again to confirm the number.

    Thanks also for this Froggy..

I have a 2001 Golf with a the MFD (VW's version of Nav +) locked in SAFE mode. DO you know if the same trick will work for that?

    Cheers - Alex.

PS: Is it true that if you leave the Nav unit on for long enough, it will eventually allow you to enter the code again? I've heard that the time you have to wait is proportionate to the amount of times the code has been entered incorrectly.

It's not the same if memory serves correctly. I think you need to leave it switched on, uninterrupted for at least an hour, then it should let you put the number in.

I think it takes you into a screen to select the code numbers similar to entering a destination - not 100% on that though, been a while since I have fiddled with one.

    Hi,

The only place you'll find the code printed is in the Radio / SatNav booklet that came with the car that the stereo was originally fitted to. Obviously it's a theft deterent, so printing it somewhere in the car wouldn't be a good idea.

When removed, the radio will have a serial number on it. Dealerships and various websites offer a service to work-out the pin code from this serial number.

    Good luck.

    Alex.
