I realise it's been a while but thought I'd update this.

I opened the light and got to the LEDs. half the strip worked when I powered them, the other half didn't....but none worked in the light. So that told me it was a circuit board issue. And with no obvious issues or dampness there wasn't much I could do.
I found a replacement light on ******* for £160 so got it ordered. It arrived a few days later and it's now fitted.

So unfortrunately, the cheap LED fix didn't happen but was worth a shot.

I'm bumping this thread because I've got similiar issue.

Unfortunately my led blinker is gone in the tail light (A6 C7 Avant). Since I'm coming from an electrotechnical school I would also like to give a try to change/repair the smd leds if possible. My question is. Does anyone know the oem nummer of 1 led or something.

What kind of LEDs should I order? Any ideas?

Not something I would ever get into as the labour costs would be more than a new unit, mind you thats around 350 Euro so maybe it would pay?

use gorilla epoxy to seal light. total cost £6 ish.
